Dr. Chong is a counsultant physician and dermatologist currently practicing in Gleneagles Penang and MD Dermatology Skin Specialist Clinic. He is a registered specialist in Internal Medicine and Dermatology with the National Specialist Register (NSR), Malaysia.  He sees patients with all types of skin disorders, adverse cutaneous drug reactions, sexually transmitted infections and leprosy. He also performs various procedures such as skin biopsy, cutaneous surgery, cryotherapy, electrosurgery and laser surgery. His fields of interest are on psoriasis, acne, eczema, skin infections, genito-urinary medicine, dermatosurgery and aesthetic dermatology.

It is of great concern that in the recent announcement from GSK Malaysia that Acne-Aid Soap and Liquid Cleanser contain porcine derived sulfonated olive oil. This is a major setback in this country where the majority of the population are Muslims. Not only that, as more people are moving away from using cosmetics containing animal by-products, this revelation set an added disadvantage.
